Established in 2014 by a group of engineering students united by a shared passion for motorsports and innovation, Purdue Electric Racing has grown into a highly interdisciplinary organization representing Purdue on the global stage. Today, the team brings together students from across the Colleges of Engineering, Science, and Business, all contributing their expertise to push the boundaries of electric vehicle technology.

Each year, Purdue Electric Racing designs, builds, and tests a fully electric, single-seater, open-wheel race car to compete in national and international Formula SAE Electric competitions. Through hands-on engineering, rigorous testing, and a commitment to continuous improvement, the team advances both its technical capabilities and Purdue’s legacy in automotive engineering excellence
